Check local suitability including how serious apricot diseases and pests are (try the USDA Cooperative Extension Service branch for your area). Then if there do not seem to be any deal breaking cultural issues in effect there get a great big tub that can be filled with potting soil, look for a locally suitable cultivar on a dwarfing rootstock.

Keeping in mind the whole time that you are never going to get bushels of fruit from a dwarfed tree growing in a tub.

And you have to be able to winter protect it somehow. I kept an apricot in a large pot that was dragged into the barn for winter storage -- it did well but was a lot of work dragging it back in and out in the spring so I decided to plant it (it broke dormancy kind of early so wanted to protect the new growth from some harsh weather we had - hence the repeated in and out of the barn). It did fruit nicely this year but suffered extensive fruit drop -- not sure if being containerized led to issues, a cold snap after fruit set, tree not mature enough to hold the fruit, or some combination of those. Who knows.
