Who's your favorite Hosta vendor?

Asking for a friend. ;)

I have received excellent plants from Glenbrook Farm, Naylor Creek, Hostas-Store, New Hampshire Hostas, Sebright, Green Mountain Hosta, Uniquely Hostas, Green Hill Farm, and Plant Delights Nursery. The customer service for online-ordering at Glenbrook Farm, Naylor, Uniquely, NHH, and GMH have been good. The packaging from Sebright and PDN is impressive. The in-person shopping at Green Hill and PDN is wonderful.

I ordered from some of those same vendors as miles. But one vendor steveduggins turned me onto was Hornbakers out of Princeton,IL. I ordered 2 Munchkin Fires($18for both), a Neptune ($15) an extra large Sagae($15), a large Yankee Blue ($10) and Queen Josephine($10). I received very healthy plants with multiple eyes. I was most impressed by the value and quality of the plants and will definitely order from them again. Thanks for the tip Steve.

I've ordered from Land of the Giants, Sebright, New Hampshire, Flying Frog Farm and some hybridizers. Several others are gone now. I've really been impressed by Sebright. their plants and packing are exceptional.

I've gotten 5 orders this spring, 3 from big sellers and 2 from smaller sellers. The 2 that impressed me the most were from Holy Hosta Farm and Brian White Nursery. Both are smaller and both have Facebook pages. The selection isn't that of the "name" sellers but the quality is definitely there. Holy Hosta doesnt have a list per say but is willing to see if they have what you are looking for.

"asking for a friend" -- good one!

One deciding factor for me is the shipping charges. I get pretty exciting adding things to my cart only to find out that shipping is as much as the plant. Then I usually decide I don't *need* them.

Just got a shipment from Sebright yesterday. Fabulous packing and very large plants. They never disappoint. I am always blown away by the size of their plants and the care that they take in preparing their shipments. Well worth the shipping cost.

Am reading on FB vagarities of online hosta orders deliveries recently. Yikes! I just got in 2 packages I think just before more trouble came. One of my packages was longer than usual and a bit on a drier side but nothing special.

I have ordered in the past from most of the above. Northern grown perennials and Maple River gardens too. Hostasmith on line on FB.

I rarely buy hostas in store, but I do go to Bob Fox hostafarm. If I am lucky I will get couple more plants from him.
