Jumbled time sequence of messages on GW.

I am starting a new thread on this. I did complain officially, and I got back an email which implied that they did something about it. I looked at the newest 2-3 threads, and it appears that at least the default is now "oldest" at the top, and newest at the bottom, as it was before (at least on my computer - before they changed that, it kept defaulting back to "newest", even though I had clicked on "oldest". However, they left the "Comment" box at the top, which makes no sense at all if the most recent messages are at the bottom. I have not seen any "best answer" posts taken out of time sequence lately. I was wondering what anyone else thinks about the current configuration - they are responding to my complaints, so I would be happy to try again if others think that the Comment box should be put back at the bottom, right under the newest comment, and if the out of sequence "best answer" idiocy is still a problem. Please let me know what you think.

It’s very confusing. It’s a big hassle now to try to reply, with too much scrolling up and down. Thank you for addressing this with them.

There’s also still issues with the ”like” button and “say thank you” functions. They are not saving.

Amazing that they took something that worked very well, and continue to screw it up.

OK - I will tell them that, now that the newest comment is at the bottom, we want the Comments box down there too, and I will mention the "like" and "thank you" issue.

OK - I just put in another request on the two issues I mentioned in my latest post. We will see what happens.

Please tell them to leave the site alone and stop screwing around.

Sheila - I agree with you - it seems as if every time they make "enhancements" the results are nothing but BIG PROBLEMS! In my last communication with the Customer Service Support, I tried to explain that we actually have conversations on here, and that many people who do not participate none-the-less like to read them. Somehow this latest debacle made me think that whoever did this thinks the responses people post are just random direct responses to the original post, not on-going conversations. I tried to disabuse them of that idea. I will say that they have been very responsive - I get an immediate automatic "got your request", and then usually in a day or two they do something, or ask a question if they need to.

Marlorena - is there ever a green "Read More" thing under the one picture when you can only see one? If there is and you click on it, you should be able to see all of them - another annoying "improvement" Houzz has made.

Jackie... I see that on mobile phone... I usually use laptop and that is where I'm having the problems.. I do not see a read more option on laptop.

..thanks for taking on this thankless task by the way.. The time we all waste on this sort of thing..

Yes, THANK YOU Jackie! A thankless task indeed where Houzz in concerned, but MANY thanks from all of us!!

Marlorena, your laptop is my phone and vice versa. I can no longer use my phone for the forum.

The disappearing likes and thank yous are VERY irritating!

I have discovered something on this from my own laptop.... the problems I have with not being able to 'like' comments, and the posts appearing in reverse order, with the latest at the top instead of the bottom, are found using the Microsoft Edge web browser to access this site.. when I access using Google Chrome or Firefox, I do not have any of these problems, and the forum functions as 'normal' as we can at least hope for these days..

All the other shenanigans that people talk about, I also find exists when using a mobile phone using Android [whatever that is], so I try to avoid that if possible...

Train wreck I enjoy timeline is sorting to view, its organized the better by date, but reversal! Above best answer its the bottom up, but hey, sorted! Winning HOUZZ!

HA! It worked! First, I complained about the messages not being in time sequence, and they fixed that (at least it is fixe on my computer). Then, about a week later, i complained that the "comments" box should now be on the BOTTOM, not the top, so that people could respond to the latest post without scrolling all the way up to the Comments Box. They did not move the Comments box, but they did put a link to it way down below the latest post, so that works too! I must say that HOUZZ has been very responsive, and has changed the things I complained about - can't ask more than that.

Could you ask them to leave it fixed, Jackie?

HA HA! Actually, HOUZZ did send me (both times) a "how did we do?" thingy, but the options were just how many stars I would give them from 0 to 5. Since they fixed both of the issues I was complaining about, I gave them (the Customer Service Folks, not the ones who goof things up) a 5.

Houzz just asked me to complete a survey for them.. I got this 'pop up' as I was looking at a discussion. So I completed the survey and told them about the problems with posting photos and trying to post a simple comment, and how everything has become problematic for so many people, both on laptops and mobile phones..

Did anyone else get this feedback pop up appear for them?

    Not here yet, Marlorena.

I got it, but I ignored it.

Unfortunately the link down at the bottom doesn't take me to the top. On one computer there isn't even a way to choose newest or oldest first. All the same problems remain unless I use the Gardenweb backdoor or my one computer that randomly shuts down in the middle of a post. Please, let's not tell them about the backdoor or I'll never be able to use this site from various computers. I've written numerous times about the phone issues so many of us have and they don't nothing to correct any of it. Thank you Jackie for contacting them and fixing it for some platforms. You deserve a medal! Seriously! There is really something wrong with the people making these changes. Why would anyone want to comment at the top?

I see Houzz has created a Poll in Hot Topics, and Home Discussions giving some options...
