That is nasty. You could replace the sink.

We’ve literally only used it for 8 weeks! I wonder if Blanco would replace it. We have enough money to spend around here as it is... 🙁

I would not try anything else. Contact Blanco.

So I contacted Blanco, heard nothing back and didn’t try anything else... and the discoloration has slowly faded and I can barely see it now. Still absolutely no idea what happened.

Try contacting Blanco again. Their warranty is not great. I have chips in my sink and there is no way to fix it. But it is good to try to see if they can do something for you.

It had pretty much completely gone away, and then today I noticed the same thing in a different “pattern” so to speak, and figured out what happened! I use a citrus based fruit and veggie wash, and when I spray blueberries or pears or whatever it’s not a problem. But last time and this time I sprayed down a watermelon, and was left with this discoloration. My theory is that there is a wax coating on the watermelon that comes off and leaves a residue on teh sink. Explains the circular shape in the pattern last time. I held it differently this times but noticed dark drips where it would have run off. I’m not worried though because I feel pretty good it will eventually go away again.

I use organic surfactants to wash melons before I cut them too. Excellent culinary hygiene (and detective work), but its a bummer that it’s going to recur.
