I have not had enough blooms to bother posting the last 2 days, and today had a bunch so if Houzz allows, I will have quite a few

Bullfrog Kisses, so glad to have this one

Cosmic Odyssey is one I always enjoy. It blooms well and often reblooms. Lost some fans from being run over, but at least they are normal looking.

I read where Brad is expecting 2 blooms of Gadsden Goliath to bloom today. I had 2 bloom yesterday, but they did not look great, this one is splotchy on a petal. Scapes are a little short on it this year.

Glory to His Name is a heavy bloomer. It did not bloom its 1st year 2018 but spent the time multiplying and bloomed like crazy last year. It is a nice big clump this year and looks like plenty of buds

I have 2 clumps of Hillbilly Heart, this one bloomed 1st and scapes are short on it. The other clump has normal size scapes

Another Lambertson, Multiple Multiplicities or something like that is the name. I have it in a protected spot, but right now it is overprotected by weeds and perennial Black and Blue Salvia. I hate to move the salvia because it is only borderline hardy, maybe I can cut it back a bit

Neon Rainbow has had a few blooms now, one of my favorite early blooming

Tall Dark Stranger, I was not sure I liked this the first year, last year the color improved and I like it even better this year

Volcano Queen. I have had it about 3 years now, received it as a single fan.. It grew to 2 then declined back to 1 fan the same year and still just 1 fan. Not a lot of blooms, but they look so much better in person

Whip City Fancy Free had a poly on its first bloom. Splotchy though. It is short this year, this was yesterday's bloom

Here is today's. The blooms are huge, I think they are supposed to be 8" but seem much larger

I must be in a Jack Carpenter mood today. My three favorites are all by him: Glory to His Name, Fancy Face and Tiger's Eye. Be sure to post a clump shot of Glory to His Name. That one is so pretty! I think grubs got to the Hillbilly Heart from you again - short scapes and only a few buds. I don't think mine will bloom for a week or two. Guess what? Cindy's Tie Die finally has a scape coming!!! I hope it hurries up an blooms before the ones I wanted to cross it with are done.

Lots of nice ones here!! Glad your season has started with such great blooms. Neon Rainbow is so pretty. Glory to His Name is also striking. But then, lots to look at here!!

Paw prints on my Heart won my vote today. Lots of lovely blooms today, makes me anxious to see blooms here. I do have some scapes popping up.

Debra, mine is really short too, I do not think my problem is grubs. I planted some new daylilies close to Hillbilly Heart, good size holes, and did not see a single grub. For that matter, I moved and added lots of plants this spring, and in all my digging, I don't think I spotted more than 2 or 3. I think moles took care of all the grubs in the yard. I rarely see Japanese beetles the last couple of years. And the moles seem to have moved on, I guess looking for food. I don't miss either of them, but I imagine they will cycle back. I will be sure to get a clump pic of Glory to His Name, it was beautiful last year. I really like the look of Tiger's Eye, but it has not multiplied since I have had it, and not really bloomed great. Maybe I should try moving it. I think every plant I have has toured my garden. But it is surprising how often moving a plant helps, sometimes it is only a couple of feet. Just weird.

Thanks Kate & Sherry! Paw Prints on My Heart is so pretty today, just the way I like to see it, but seems like several UFs are not starting out good. They almost look like they may have gotten sprayed with a bit of weed killer. Not impossible, I am ashamed to say. But a couple of cases, I am pretty sure that is not it, so blaming the up and down weather.

Good for you. Blooms with a bang! I like Pawprints on My Heart as it's really a pretty one! I have a couple of Whip City plants and I really like them. As you siad, the blooms are huge and they stand up nice and tall with great scapes....and I like your poly too.

I'm glad you didn't see any grubs. They are so hard to get rid of. I saw about 50 when I was planting new acquisitions. They are everywhere - even in my raised beds and in my compost bag. I'm trying several different approaches to eradicate them. And I've done so much research on them, that's where my mind goes. I think a lot of the short scapes this year - especially on early bloomers - are due to those two late freezes.

Nice group. I am really tempted to try Bull Frog Kisses again. We lost it winter before last. We too grow Volcano Queen. It is a beautiful flower, but not the best grower for us. If Bob didn't like orange so much, it would probably be gone by now. I also like Tall Dark Stranger. I am partial to the dark ones with eyes.
