Any information on the the wall top tiles?

Looks like tiles and mortar with a a curved tile topplate, but I can't really tell. Any information on building/finishing this wall?

    Just a stucco wall with saltillo tile and saltillo brick on the caps. The caps are not curved they just are sloped to either side to drain the water off.

    Are the sandwiched bricks between the top and bottom Saltillo tiles curved or rounded? they sure look like they're rounded especially on the left side of the fireplace where it makes the corner. Is that just an optical illusion caused by rounding out the mortar? It's awesome!
