All quiet on the home front......

and I hope it stays that way. :-).

Balancing a lot of chores including repainting several of our rooms.I set my own pace and in no hurry to complete the painting. No daylily scapes that I can see but I'm still tackling the garden beds. I too have had a large amount of snails this season. I've seen the shells and snails stuck to several plants and not just the daylilies.

Clematis, iris, peonies blooming. Our temps were up high and then yesterday a cold front came through and now it is much cooler and less humid. It will tick up again and suppose to hit 90 by mid week.

My husband is doing well and had his post op surgery follow-up and so far things are going okay and has the normal aches you would expect from his type of surgery. He cannot do any lifting or strenuous activity for next six weeks which makes it hard for him as he wants to help me and I have to keep reminding him not yet. He does walk a lot which the doctor recommends. He has another follow-up appt in early July.

All the beautiful pics from the forum members keeps me looking forward that one day, I too will have daylily scapes and blooms.

Bless you. I have done a lot of painting lately and I know that it is hard on the arms, shoulders and neck. Paing yourself is a good idea. Men tend to feel bad when they have to just let us do the things due to physical constraints. I am glad he is doing well, and hope all continues just that way. As you already know the blooms will be there soon. Take care of yourself.

It sounds like you have been quite busy painting rooms and working in your gardens. I'm glad to know your husband's recovery is going well. I sure wish you could send me some of that cooler weather. It's 94 here today.

It’s good to hear things are quiet and your husband is doing well. I’d send you some energy for the painting chores if I could. Take your time, it will be there tomorrow.

I was just wondering how your DH was doing. I'm happy he's mending so well. Having him wanting to help you is so sweet. A prayer today for continued healing.......As Debra said, send that cool 90 temperature back west. 98 here for the past few days. It's brutal already and I haven't finished doing all my basic gardening chores yet. It's so hard to even breath when it's that hot (and here at least) humid............Maryl

So good to hear a positive report about your husband-you both have been through a lot in the past year. Kudos to you on painting-the last thing I ever want to do!! I am sure your scapes will be up soon-awaiting your beautiful photos!!

So glad to hear the good news about your husband. I plan to paint a bedroom, but waiting til July or August when I know I won't want to be out in the heat.

Thank you all for the comments. I know that some of you have had personal and family issues yourselves and know the up and downs day to day.

Hoping to complete a couple more walls today since the cooler temps are easier for me to paint. I save the hot days for getting on the lawn tractor and mow.
