The thing you can do now is keep it well watered. It will likely die back quite a bit but will possibly regrow from lower down. Never a good idea to move roses that are actively growing. Best to do while dormant.

Take off all the dead leaves (and clean up the ground around it) and prune the top down by about 1/3. When you dig up a rose, especially one that big, you need to prune the top growth back so the root ball can grow back to support the top growth. There is no way to dig up a rose without compromising the root ball in some manner. With a smaller root ball there is no way for the rose to support that large amount of top growth. Keep it well watered but not soggy wet. If you are having very hot weather and it gets the hot afternoon sun, find a way to give it some shade during the afternoon. Even a lawn chair over it during the hottest part of the day will help. DO NOT fertilize it until it puts out new leaves! Just water and shade.

It has been very hot up north, a lot of water and shade would help. You could make a burlap teepee to block the sun.

I’ve moved some bigger ones, and had similar leaf die back. You’ve gotten excellent advice here; shade and moisture will help it bounce back. Mine have sprouted new laterals after about two to three weeks of recovery. Just keep an eye on it, and it will probably recover nicely in a month or two. 😊
