What I had blooming today

Kate, I did not have to get down to get this photo, but did have to go around and squeeze through other blooming daylilies, taking care not to break anything. Only 1 bloom was facing out where I was. This is Fancy Face, looks very purple with me shading it

Heman had 2 blooms today, this is a tall guy

Shark Infested Waters is a new one this year. I rather thought it would be more red

Malaysian Marketplace, you can see that 3rd flower behind is not formed right.Every bloom on that scape has been like that, almost looking like it came in contact with weed killer. I am sure I did not here, and the fan with this scape is on the inside of the plant too.

A noid, have no idea where it came from. Showed up a couple of years ago, in a place where I would deliberately have planted a new plant, especially one with a single fan. Kind of a blush pink polychrome

Thanks everyone for the comments! Sherry, I know what you mean about Complex Complexities. I am not sure I like it, but I keep looking at it. Kaleidoscopes always fascinated me, and this reminds me, some patterns not so much pretty but interesting. I am hoping to get an interesting seedling from it. Debra, Shark Infested Waters is starting out more of a purple red than the red I hoped for, but that is ok. I like it, and it may be the toothiest daylily I have.

Fancy Face looks great in a clump. I like the different looks Complex Complexities shows. The pattern always looks good, but I like the edges on these two day with their veining and freckling. I like the look of Shark Infested Water. The pictures on the NGA database run the gamut of red shades from burgundy to bright red. It looks more of a red purple in your photo.

Your clump of Fancy Face would have been worth getting on your back to take a photo!! It's bad enough when you have twins that are not talking to each other but when you have a whole family feud with all of them facing different directions, that can be a chore getting a good picture! You did great on that one. I like the color on Malaysian Marketplace. And that noid is sweet with the blush on it. Shark Infested Water shows some teeth doesn't it? Nice blooms, all of them!

Nice clump of Fancy Face today. I like your noid too, a delicate looking flower. Im. Not sure how I feel about patterned daylilies like complex Complexities.

Nancy- these are great. I use to grow Fancy Face and always enjoyed the blooms but then one season it did not come back after I divided it.

so beautiful!! I hope mine end up looking as nice as yours! Last year when I bought most of them they either didn't flower or just had a couple. Love your purple colored ones

Complexities is just beautiful Nancy. I always loved Malaysian Marketplace, and it is lovely, but your clump of Fancy Face is the winner today. Lovely post, Nancy.

Nancy, somehow I missed this before. I always like seeing Malaysian Marketplace. Odd about that one scape. I remember seeing some of Dick's clumps that got partially hit by roundup and his did exactly what you see on yours. Maybe some kind of natural something hurt it?

Kali, you have some nice daylilies blooming!
