Is there life left in my lemon tree?

last modified: 6 years ago

Hi guys! I really need some expert advice on my old lemon tree.

I purchased a lemon tree about a month ago and I was planning to plant it as a backup. But now I'm wondering if it's worth trying to save my existing lemon tree.

It was infected by gall wasps several years ago, but it wasn't until last year when the fruits were small and many were soft/rotten. So I decided to prune it back hard and remove all the dead bark.
It produced shoots quite quickly but they are yellow ish and some are curling.
So I guess what I'm trying to establish is if it's unlikely to produce healthy crops in the future. I'll attach some pics.
Would really appreciate your advice.
Cheers, John
