water the pot heavily.. and get it out of the sun for a few weeks.. and then harden it off to full sun afterwards ...

did you moisten the media.. before you put it in the pot... and plant in it??

if you cant move it.. rig up some shade ...

it was heavily stressed from the first planting.. and now its double stressed from the second .... and full sun after those stresses.. is a third stress ... its stressed.. not hungry.. fert is not a response ...

I Don’t know where you’re located but peonies are meant to go in the ground. They come back every year. Don’t give up. If you plant them they may return

How long was it in the pot with no drainage? Root rot can set in rapidly under those conditions and then it is pretty much a write-off. Is there a reason you did not plant this in the ground? (and the new pot looks way too large for what is planted in it and the medium very dry).

btw, peonies are a very long lived perennial so wonder why you chose to post in the Annuals forum. In addition to Perennials, there is also a dedicated Peony forum here as well.

As others have said would be better in the ground. And easier to transplant root clumps minus the tops. The tops will regrow.

I didn't see the Peony one on my phone when I was posting, I apologize. I honestly do not have much experience in flowers at all, so really didn't know where to post.

They were in the pot for a few days before I was able to transplant them. It was doing great in the pot before the heavy rain. I bought a few and planted some in the ground and wanted one in a pot so I could move it around-when I wanted to.

There's nothing wrong with planting a peony in a pot. I have one in a large pot on my patio. But they do need more attention than something in the ground (as does any plant in a pot). I agree with Ken that I would water it (it looks very dry in the photo but maybe that's just mulch on top?) and keep it out of any really hot sun for a bit, and keep an eye on it.

If you are new to gardening, it will take time before you get a feel for the right conditions for your plants. It's a learning experience and one which we are all still experiencing lol, no matter how long we've been at it!

Thanks!! I will move it into the shade to see if that helps. We went through a really hot spell maybe it just got torched.

Peonies don’t like to be very deep. They prefer to be quite close to the surface.
