After shower squeege as usual. Put a fan on bathroom counter aimed toward the shower (shower door open). Leave fan on day & night. Do not need to put fan next to the shower. Bleach will remove existing mildew.

Pink/orange mold is not mold. It is a bacteria called Serratia marcescens. It is common in damp areas where there is a build up of human skin cells. It will come back when there is a build up of residue. I am a little confused what you mean by "under the shower door." Do you mean in a track or just where the door rest when closed? Either way clean weekly and dry after every shower should do the trick. In addition, turn on the exhaust fan and let it run for 20 minutes during after the shower and leave the shower door open after the shower until all the humidity is gone.

I thought it was mildew, not mold, but the area where I'm talking about is the track under the glass door. When I started smelling the mildew or mold smell I cleaned inside the track under the door and that's where I found the pink color. It's a sliding glass door also so very hard to clean underneath! I only have a small fan in the apartment bathroom and I do run it during and after the shower. I just was hoping there was something I could apply over the track to prevent the build up and repel water.

Mildew is a type of mold. As stated above, the pink/orange stuff is a bacteria. It thrives on the fats in soaps and shampoos. Clean and disinfect with bleach, then keep the area clean and dry.

Sorry, yes it will keep coming back as new soap and skin cells are deposited there and it gets wet. If it grows back in one day you didn't get rid of it the first time and your bathroom is staying damp for a long time. If it is several days or a week it means you need to clean more often. Unfortunately you can't get under the track so all sorts of stuff is probably stuck under there. Just keep cleaning it regularly and try going to the hardware store and getting a mold killing cleaner with concrobium instead of bleach. Bleach is hydroscopic and feeds mold where as concrobium is not and just kills it outright.

Thanks. I will try the cleaner you mentioned. I clean all the time so that's not the issue. But to have to do a complete clean every day is impossible when I'm working 12-14 hour days! I hate having these sliding shower doors but I'm in an apartment so don't have much choice!

I was going to suggest removing the doors, too. I finally had to do that at my house. I have well water and it's very "alive" causing mold, mildew and that pink/orange stuff. I took off the doors and caulked the holes where the door was hung. I LOVE having a shower curtain I can just throw in the wash and no more tracks to clean. And no more glass doors to squeegee.
