Can you help me help my inkberries?

Two years ago we had our front landscaping redone. We opted for a hedge made out of inkberries. I originally asked for boxwoods, but our landscaper convinced us that inkberries had the same look and were a better option. After two years, they are not thriving as we had hoped. The middle are all sticks and there are several yellow leaves as well as some black tipped leaves. I live in Massachusetts. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what I can do to get these looking a bit more healthy? We’ve reached out to the landscaper that installed them but he has been no help 😕
