Anyone Quilting/Sewing?

I pulled out a BOM lotto win from a few years ago and trying to get it to work with some other blocks I have....... reds, oranges, yellows, blues.......I'm still in the layout phase but will post when all sewn together. I also have all 63 blocks for the Amish Colorful Crossings made. I think they'll go up on the board next. I have 37 blocks of the 48 Garlic Knots that I want to make completed, so at least 11 more of those to do.

The grandson is getting married in August and they have a sunflower theme going so thought I'd made some placemats or snack mats with sunflower fabric for them. I've already given them the quilt. I had planned to make it but as it turned out, didn't get to ....... and, of course, as soon as it arrived I put it in their hands. lol It was a kit I bought from HOP (I think). Pieced and quilted by Daisy Quilts Portland.

Boy, you are going gung ho! Very nice sunflower quilt

I am in a bit of a slump, have made almost 400 masks so quilting is taking a back burner. I do have a good bit of our wedding quilt done but I had to order more of the fabric so am waiting for that. I missed reading a line on the fabric needed.

And I really do have to clean up the cutting table, lots of mask scraps.

A pretty quilt! What a busy bee you have been. I'm having trouble with my camera, so haven't been able to post a quilt I completed. I'm quilting one for a friend who used more of the "hideous" D9P blocks I made. I should finish that by the weekend and then I will work on completing the piecing of another of the "hideous" D9P. But I actually think I'm going to really like this one. I have about 5 more masks to finish, just been procrastinating.

Sharon, that is a really great quilt! You have been busy, for sure.

Like Theresa, I have been sewing masks - over 500 now and still going. I did pull out a batch of fabric/quilt stuff I inherited and tried to make some sense of what the woman was doing. I am not crazy about the colors - too blah, but chopped it up some and now it is about a 60" square. I found some fabric for the back and need to get it sandwiched. Not sure where it will go, but definitely won't be my house! :)

Bright and cheery sunflower quilt, Sharon.

I finally found fabrics that I hope will be right for my Compelling Women quilt, which is made of the Idaho Beauty block. I have been looking for the right combination of fabrics for months. I made the first block, being very careful to measure as I went, as directed. As you can see, the four background squares in the center of the block lost their points. I have been resizing the individual pieces and adjusting the "1/4" inch seam allowance, trying to get the points to line up properly. What a pain! I hate it when you follow directions exactly and the block doesn't work out. I'm sill trying to adjust my seam allowance wide enough so I don't have to trim 1/8" off the hundreds of blocks I've already cut. This quilt is turning out to be quite a challenge.

Nothing going on sewing-wise except searching for a new project. I have lots of fabric but haven't made a decision yet. But I've been keeping busy with other things, one of them is that I'm experimenting with sourdough starters. A friend challenged me so we are both feeding the little monsters growing on our kitchen counters! LOL! I tried once last year and it flopped but I'm giving it another go since I've been dared to do it again. It would be nice not to worry about not being able to find yeast in the store since I do like to make bread but this is like adopting a new puppy or something. LOL!

Pretty sunflowers, Sharon! Lois, I can see that block is challenging. Good luck!

I'm working on a PP miniature called 900 pieces. I have two quarters assembled and the third about halfway. I hope to finish the top this weekend. After the quarters are assembled it gets two borders.

I finished knitting a cardigan, just need to finish the ends and block it.

Great quilt Sharon. I have a couple ready to quilt on the frame but have not done much piecing lately.

Nice sunflower quilt, Sharon. Great for summer! I, too, am in a slump and I've only made about 150 masks! I have been trying to sandwich and baste the tops I have with my trusted water soluble thread. Have two more ready to go, one of which is the BOM from last year. Still trying to quilt the Space quilt for my nephew, but have lost a bit of my motivation...it's been too nice outside and the Lake has been calling me to jump in!
