We have handscraped bamboo on the main level in a darker red brown. In the basement we have new grayish carpet on the stairs bc they had no stair treads to match and gray waterproof vinyl.

What do I do on the stairs to the 2nd floor and on the 2nd floor? Can I do gray? Should it be close to the bamboo which is dark redish brown? Can I leave carpet on the stairs?
