Swirling Waters

I've lost track of how many years I've had this now--5?. This is the first year it is not super short, but it is still poorly budded. It must hate this climate &/or soil.

Red Grace. I have about 7 reds about the same shape and color. Several have to go. This may be one. It is nice but others, like Red Volunteer and Kent's Favorite Two are nicer.

Lots of pretties! I especially like the UFs Red Viper and Kirsten's Corsage. Kate's Smile clump looks good and that light Noid is very lovely. My Joan Sr also has different height scapes.

And speedy recovery to your son!

Siloam Amazing Grace, Red Viper and Kate’s noid yellow caught my eye today. What a shame a Red Grace has not performed very well, it is lovely. Maybe you need to threaten it with the compost pile, it works sometimes

Too bad some of the Joan Senior scapes are so short. It does look very white for you. My favorites are Kristen's Corsage and the "Kate's Smile" clump. That is some yellow. I think it would make me smile too. I hope your son's surgery goes well!

Thanks for the replies. Yes, Joan Sr. is very white for me Debra. It and the Viette seedling that blooms late in the summer are my whitest. They, along with So Lovely, are the only ones that don't disappoint me in their whiteness. All the others are basically very light yellow which is not what I hoped for when I got them..

Kai's appendix was remove laparoscopically! How they do that I don't know, but it is so much better than traditional surgery. That's how they did my knee last summer and afterward I never had knee pain at all!

Actually Sherry, Red Grace does perform well. It is a hard decision to get rid of it. I just need to choose several to get rid of because I have too many alike.

One more photo: a sibling to last year's seedling that I posted a couple of days ago. Odd "paint job" but it has a lot of buds.This plant didn't bloom last year.

Also forgot to post Lord Chamberlain, which is a lot like Strutter's Ball.

I am glad I got to share my wonderful noid I garden named “Kate’s Smile” with you!! I think you can see why it is such a favorite for me. Omomuki (which is similar but shorter and has a smaller bloom size) blooms first, then when Omomuki is finished, this noid starts, and then I have yet another tall yellow noid to take up the baton!

Red Viper looks huge! Kirsten’s Corsage is always so pretty. Good photo of Siloam Amazing Grace. Interesting seedling-are all blooms like this?

Kate, that is the first bloom for that one. This is the sibling which bloomed last year and this year. Both are tall with a 6" flower. Red Viper is 10 inches and 47 inches tall.

Brad, first I like your odd "paint job" seedling but I have a feeling the "paint job " will change as the seedling matures. Ir's sib is a very soft pretty pink. Your yellow noid is my choice today . It is such a lovely soft creamy yellow

I absolutely love Red Viper! No surprise is there, but Kristen's Curls is really a pretty one. I fully understand having to let some perfectly good plants go, even some you have had for a while and like well enough...But there is the room issue here, and I have to have some new ones....more than I have room for usually. And Debra and Nancy will keep enabling me. zI had a friend who assured me I needed to use the 7-stepplan for my daylily addiction. Yes, Kate's Smile is a really good yellow. It did well this first year and I expect it to continue to do well.

South Seas went to live with my friend Cindy last year. Nice color, reliable bloom, but a late opener here and that is a serious flaw for me even though I had had it a long time and it bloomed well for me.

Brad, has your Catastrophe Waitress put up scapes? Mine is through with the initial blooms but it put up a rebloom scape with 14 or 15 buds. I hope yours does well.

One of these days I will have a huge bunch shot of Red Viper. It has about 10 scapes. Catastrophe Waitress does have scapes. At least another week or so til bloom time. I can't wait.
