If you are happy with the layout of the kitchen and the quality of the cabinets, then I think the best way to change the look is with a new lighter colored counter and backsplash.

I understand wanting a change to freshen it up, but I'm not sure painting cabinets white is your answer. Can we see a close up of your counters? Specifically looking for the colors in it.

Stained cabinets are trending and yours look like they are in excellent condition. Painting cabinets is timely if DIY and costly if having it done professionally.

I would suggest ripping out your backsplash and updating that. Perhaps install under cabinet lighting if you don't have it already. Maybe, like @chispa suggested, update your counters as well. But let's see a closer look at the counters first.

Lema, do you know the brand of those cabinets? I think I have the same ones and need to replace some but don't know the brand.

Here is a close up of the granite. I don’t know the name of it. The cabinet brand neither and can’t tell whether it is Cherry Wood or Mahogany.

Oooh, pretty granite! Love the movement. It looks like you have some lighter spots in the stone (left middle of picture). If you insist on painting cabinets, I would try for that color, but definitely not pure white. I would absolutely change the b/s... I think that would make a world of difference.

Thank you. The stone has some soft pink, grey, and creme colors. Do you have a picture of the color you would suggest? My husband doesn’t want to let go of the stone or else I would go with white like Chispa suggested. The backsplash definitely does need to go but no idea what will look good and updated with my current granite. I do have lighting underneath my cabinets.

Something simple for the backsplash that harmonizes with the counter. Maybe a cream or grey subway tile. The wood is pretty, don't paint it!

Ooh! Pretty, pretty granite!! If it were me, I’d look for a simple and light colored backsplash that complements the granite, and I’d do that before I decided on whether or not to paint the cabinetry. (Which I’m leaning towards a no on personally.) The current backsplash doesn’t currently do anything for ANY element in this kitchen, and should be changed IMO, no matter what else you decide to do.

I don't think white is right, given the other colours and that gorgeous counter top, but maybe a creamy beige like BM Lambskin, or Albescent - or maybe a light green, like BM Hollingsworth Green, or Smokey Green.

Your cabinets are lovely as is your granite. I'd change the backsplash and consider changing the hardware. Can't see what you currently have but it looks almost too unobtrusive. :) If you're craving a change from the wood, perhaps a couple of upper doors would lend themselves to glass inserts?

Something simple because the granite has so much movement in it and you don't want too many elements competing with each other. This one is from Tilebar - Carolina Fog 2X20 Polished ceramic.

The cabinets look lovely and the kitchen looks very useable. I agree with the keep the wood/keep the counter recommendations.

For the backsplash, my best advice is don't try to decide from a small sample!!!.

Check out the color with big expanse of the same color you are considering put up in the backsplash space. You can use paper or fabric or even a big towel, held in place by tape or thumbtacks to the underside of the cabinets or whatever. Then you can stand back and look at the big picture. See how it gels, or not. Look at it in different lighting conditions.

Glass tiles can be a subtle way to pick up a bit of the sparkle in the stone. Maybe a clear glass in light gray? Subway tiles would be the typical thing.

OR --for something different, you could use glow in the dark glass mosiac tiles! By day they are just a regular color, tho a limited palette. Nobody would know that by night, in the dark, they have a totally different look!
