The backside of our Saltwater Gunite pool is an exposed stucco wall. I would like to paint the wall, but it appears that the salt has leached through the stucco. What is the best way for me to remove it? I have tried a vinegar water solution that has helped, but it is not all coming off. Once I remove it, is there a way to prevent it from leaching in the future from the exterior? should I seal the stucco with something before I paint it? I am going to sand and spray the rust spots with rust-oleum to prevent rust from leaching through. Thank you for any help.
