Need help with color scheme for kitchen

Hi everyone,

I am demolishing existing kitchen in my condo, and need some advice with future color scheme.

I would like to have lighter cabinets (not too light, perhaps maple), dark granite countertops (brown antique, or black pearl), and white subway tile for a backsplash. After a conversation with one contractor and reading through some forums, I decided to install tile floors first, and then install cabinets over tile.

1) Would you agree with this order, what are the pros and cons.
2) What color tile should I consider? The kitchen gets enough natural light, however the rest of the unit will have medium to light warm oak floors. Will dark brown tile (to offset light cabinets) clash too much with the lighter floors in the rest of the unit?
3) What tile size should be used - I would like to stay more on the traditional side keeping in mind future resale value.

Thanks!
