My husband and I are replacing the broken, shoddy aluminum windows on our 1980s split level with Andersen 400 in dark bronze. We are converting the front living room double hungs to casement/fixed/casement in the short fractional, or cottage style, with the same width proportions (1/3, 1/3, 1/3). We are stuck on the trim color as I would prefer a lighter, cream colored trim, but the fascia and soffits were replaced not too long ago and are dark brown and in fine condition. My husband wants to keep the window trim the same as the windows (dark), however I am worried this might look too severe and dark with no contrast anywhere. We are also replacing our front door with a Craftsman style, and need to figure out whether to keep a color (currently a turquoise shade), or move to a stained door (we prefer this, if possible). AAny thoughts about whether trimming out windows with same color as frame will be ok, or will using a lighter trim look too mismatched with the dark fascia and soffits?
