help - exterior paint

last modified: 6 years ago

After many weeks of looking at pics and being no closer to narrowing a list exterior colors to sample, thought I would see if anyone has suggestions/advice. Our current home colors:

Marvin aluminum clad windows:

- color artic white with trim color matched (bright white)

- I like white trim and probably need to stay with a close match to the windows

Black shutters:

- Factory painted finish, so prefer to keep this finish. Another shutter color I

gravitate to is light gray which I think looks beautiful on white/off white homes.

Manhatten Beige:

- Cedar siding color. This is a Martin Senour solid stain (has been an awesome product).

Shingles - weathered wood (has grays and browns)

I would like to switch up the color after 20+ years, but do not want to go any darker than current stain. I am not a blue or yellow person. I have been looking at the following colors:

- Off whites, but probably not a good idea given we have bright white trim?

- SW Repose gray

- SW Agreeable gray

- SW Mindful gray, but thinking it might be too dark

- BM Gray Own, which I used in one of my bathrooms. I have seen a couple pictures of this color used on the exterior. One home showed a bit of green tone (ok). But another house looked completely blue (worst fear).

- BM Revere Pewter, but has lower LRV versus other grays.

Thanks for tuning into my post.

(please ignore the landscaping - our next project)
