Gorgeous homes, indeed! Thanks for sharing. I Googled the Stahls and found this article that mentions "Home owners such as Carlotta and Buck Stahl, who commissioned Koenig in 1958, received cost breaks on building materials in exchange for allowing photos of the construction to run in the magazine. They were also required to open their door to the public for a month before moving in."

What an interesting home and story.

Dream homes indeed -thank you for sharing that!

Interesting article tartan, so glad you shared that. I admire the Stahls for their commitment and involvement with the project.

Chispa and I went there! It was a fun visit. The house was so minimalist that you had to either go outside or through the master to get to the kids’ bedroom. so they definitely tried to minimize square footage.

thanks for the article, just loved the overview of the case study program. I think it’s funny that none of the houses ended up being mass produced or affordable. But the lessons learned certainly influenced a generation of homes!

Wow, Robo. By today's codes I don't think that could even count as a bedroom. Would love to see the house. Adding it to my wish list of places to go whenever that day comes!
