HELP THOUSANDS OF WHITE BUGS

My friend gave me her 10 years old boston fern. I was going to cut runners to replant then I realized so many bugs in the soil. Moving fast they are black inside but their hair are white. Please help what are they and what am I going to to do?
I want to add photos but I dont know how to upload photos on this platform:(

Root mealybug. Personally, I'd use a soil drench made from 2 teaspoons of 1.47% imidacloprid in a quart/ liter of water and drench the soil thoroughly. It should provide instant, 100% knockdown.
