Yes. It is canariensis. Bit sloppy I'm afraid.

Started a thread Foxglove "Look alike" trying to ID a feral foxglove.

Google images of the 2 suggested spp., inc. canariensis, both showed very similar plants.

I forgot that Google Images labelling. can often tell LIES!!!

I later remembered I had images from the Islands.

Hence the request above.

Agreed. A gorgeous orangy-goldy-apricotish sort of colour, but it do smack you in the eyes.

Perhaps the first one - previous thread - is one of the newer, popular digitalis-isoplexis hybrids, callled digiplexis. Although the photos presented there are dead ringers for the photos online of Isoplexis canariensis and do not resemble all that closely to the digiplexis, IMO.

If that's the case, the first must have been intentionally planted as the digiplexis hybrids are sterile.

It took me a while as I too, thought exactly the same.

Both have this flower spike rising from what looks almost like a rosette of leaves.

The ones I saw in Tenerife were, I think, fairly young plants, so don't show this feature yet.

The decider was the flowers. If you look at images of I. canariensis & I. sceptrum they do look very similar, but zoom in to the flowers. They are very different.
