Hard to say. It is a natural stone so anything can happen in nature. Or, it could be stained from being outside.

I am having doubts about everything! First it was the engineered wood scratching so we were going to do the Luxury Vinyl with two toddlers and a dog but now I’m hearing the same issues there. And with the countertops I came very close to a quartz but now I’m hearing a few people tell me 2-3 years in, theirs have started to yellow. I might as well just go with the marble, accept the porosity, and pay less 😂

Hi Elizabeth-did you decide ion quartzite? We have had ours for about 9 months with no problems at all. zeto staining, chopping, etching without babying, but I am pretty clean. I have found some things that have sat for a few hours (husband or kids) and it wipes right up. Highly recommend!

Did you get leathered or shiny quartzite?

We ended up doing polished/shiny. I’m happy with that decision! The only thing that drives me crazy is while there is no staining or etching. If water sits on it, it leaves spots that disappear overnight. It’s regular anxiety that is cured when we wake up.

Elizabeth A - That is an indication you need to reseal your stone.

Mont Blanc quartzite we installed on kitchen countertops was sealed with 511 then sealed with StonePro Plus. Still stains easily. No etching or scratches just stains, especially from oils. Trying several different stain poltices but only makes it worse. Looks like I am in for having to worry about it staining forever. Beyond disappointed. Beware!
