Have you tried using Sherwin Williams SNAP app for iphone or ipad. You snap a picture of the colour, the app matches the colour and offer two complimentary colours

I would maybe consider a darker brown that still has warm hues. I think by going darker, it will pull out some darker tones in the brick and make the house less pink.

No contest this:

Is that yellow I see on the garage and in that area? Please make it go away. Do you want to make the pink stand out or tone it down? Light gray or white will compliment the pink. A light ochre or something close that palate will tone down the pink.

@paradesigns The pic was taken this morning as the sun was coming up, making the garage have a yellow tint. I see what you mean!! It is the same color as the other brick on all 4 sides. We just had the garage door installed a few days ago & it has black hardware. Was looking to paint it as well. I see how the light gray and existing white compliment the pink, so I will look for a warmer color to tone down. I will attach a pic of the gray sample from today ... yuck!

Was trying to not paint the white vinyl on the immediate window frame, leaving it the standard white. Will I be able to do that still if going with a darker, warmer gray-brown? If not, the window warranty is void & there is a chance that we will have issues eventually with opening the windows & paint not sticking (issues I will gladly overlook for the house to look good).

Here is the sample of Cityscapes & Gray Matters Sherwin Williams. The lightest color on the deck steps is the lightest on the same pallet. Clearly this is the wrong color for my home :( I fell in love with grays two years ago in my interior and love them all. Guess they didn't translate as well out of doors for us. Again, many thanks and will take any further suggestions

Since you have the white vinyl to deal with; I would not go to a very dark gray or black, but I would recommend a dark taupe or dark gray brown. Look at Benj Moore northwood brown no. 1000 or beachcomber 993. It'll be subtle with the pink brick and tone down the white vinyl.

I know this was a long time ago and you're done painting by now but we had the exact brick color in our Georgia home and I finally found a good complimentary color for it.

Lovely - the selection doesn't interfere with the strong architectural angles - blends nicely with the roof color and helps bring the massive scale of the house to a nice level. Enjoy

My house is also what I would call a light red/pink shade of brick. My windows have a tan vinyl surround and my husband wants to paint the trim around them white! I said no way. That would look weird I think??? Anyways, I am looking at painting the house a beige or a taupe. And we still think we'd like to do the trim in a different color (but from the same family) Any thoughts on whether the trim should be darker or lighter than the house color????

Ooo, I love the dark brown! It makes the house feel so much less pink and gives it a more 'custom home' look. Please post more before/after pics!

what was the dark brown color you used?

It was something like 'commercial or industrial ' brown.
