We recently refinished our hardwood floors. While our pedestal sink and toilet were removed and waiting for reinstallation, they were broken by rambunctious foster puppies (those guys were a handful). As a result, we are just going to redo the whole thing. Here are pictures of what is left:

Sorry, the photo is dark, but the room is actually very dark. (Not particularly a problem for us as we are not very fond of light and bright. We look way better in dim lighting.)

For the vanity, we are going to use a repurposed sewing base with a stone vessel sink. Something kind of like this, but with less black paint and more wood.

We will change out the mirror and potentially the light. Now, I am trying to figure out what to do with this cabinet and strange glass shelf. I have always thought the shelf was useless and am inclined to get rid of it, but perhaps their is a universally accepted purpose for such shelves that I am unaware of. The cabinet is pretty handy for holding toilet paper (and I actually like oak). However, it is a little bulky for a small powder room. Should I remove it and replace with open shelving or art? Leave it? Thoughts?
