Either combination will work - full black cabinets will be dramatic - you'll want a crisp clean colour on the walls and for the counter. If you work with buttercream uppers it will likely help the small space feel a little larger - bridge the black and buttercream with a counter that has flecks in it to help the eye make the leap to black.
