With the hot weather, maybe planting into the ground would help. You could water well and maybe mulch. Pots are so hard to do because in my opinion they dry out so fast and roots don’t have room to move. Good luck!

Wish I had room to put the hostas in the ground! I do find hosta pots more work. I will just do my best. We'll just have to see what happens to Dream Weaver.

I am so sorry you don’t have the room to plant it........lots of people on the forum want to keep hostas in pots, rather than plant in. I guess I would keep it moist and wait and see. Good luck!

I don't know what causes the problem but I have an all green that is a good size the just flops at this time of the year. I am going to move it. It has done this leaf flop, leaves die back in July for 2 yrs now. All the ones around it look fine. Hosta can be so rewarding and frustrating.

I have them both ways, in pots and in the ground. I had to dig some up because they were in the wrong place (too hot) and put in pots. I still have some in their original nursery pots after 4, 5, maybe longer years. Won't grow to their full potential but they are doing just fine.

I have this June in a big glazed pot for years and it shaded out its smaller cousins.

These are still in their original pots. One day I promise to find a proper spot for them.

You might consider mulching the potted plants, that will help retain water, and it also prevents dirt splatter when you water. Use a light colored mulch, a dark mulch will get too hot. Same thing for pots, lighter pots don't get as hot as darker colored pots.
