How to mouse-proof a Biostack compost bin?

So I set up a Biostack (smith & hawken) bin in a corner of my garden in March when SIP started...first time composting in this yard.

I've been filling it with leaves ever since (no kitchen scraps). Unfortunately, I noticed a mouse running out of it this evening.

I'm not ok with rodents in my compost.

I'm trying to decide what to do. Should I line the inside or outside with hardware cloth? That sort of makes the bin more difficult to use however. Or do I get rid of the Biostack all together and just use a hardware cloth cylinder with a hardware cloth lid and base? Hmmm. Any advice from you veteran composters?
