Now for some seedlings I liked today, all out of Red Friday

1 - First time blooming this year but planted long ago

2 - same thing, moved it from the shade and it's blooming for the first time this year, this is FFE (Bombay Silk x Red Friday cross)

3 - this tall dark purple

How pretty! Forever Redeemed is always such a lovely colorful bloom. that Lake of Fire is quite pretty in that color; Mine was always a mauve with darker toward red eye. It was a great bloomer, but it mine would hve shown that that purple color instead of the instead of the usual, I would have kept it. DEliverer and Two Sues are bothnice clumps, and I really like that first seedling.

I adore two of your seedlings, 2 has a really great form and 3 is such a great purple! Two Sues looks really good today, I added it this spring, hope for blooms next season.

Deliverer free of splotches! You are fortunate. Navajo Princess' scape height varies from year to year here.

I'm liking the reds today. Forever Redeemed is so much darker for you than it is for me. I love the floriferous Deliverer clump. Your first red seedling grabs me, and so does the tall dark purple.

I like the look of the seedling out of Bombay Silk in your picture. The tepals are curved and stuck out at the top. Maybe just a fluke, but I like it like that. It looks fun..... The first seedling, is very pretty too with it's more traditional form......I really like your Zinnia and Portulaca hardscape "well". I think the combination of those 2 plants in that structure is superb...............Maryl

Kay, I am sorry, forgot to note that the color on Lake of Fire is not true. I tried different angles and it's still not as red (or rather burgundy red) as it is in real life. I quite like it, nice big blooms.

Mantis, oh Deliverer does have spots, mostly on sepals. I did a close up too but my camera washes it out. Oh I remember that about Navajo Princess, this year though mine only has one scape :)

Maryl, I found out that that look is indeed a fluke. Next year it won't have this form. Thanks for liking my annual arrangement, I was concerned that the zinnias are too tall for everything else.

Thanks Kate! Yes zinnias are great, and bloom for a long time. It's my DH's project, it is for the statue of Mary. Since we can't have roses there for her, the next best thing is portulaca, it has 'rose' in its other name, which I forgot, moss smth or other :)
