Climate area?

(Name is Pinus flexilis 'Vanderwolf's Pyramid')

We are in Colorado , we have these threes since 2012. They were always healthy. We do have what looks like Blight on our Apple tree this year. And the dark spot on the trunk of that apple tree and Vanderwolf pines look very similar. But everything I read about Blight doesn’t mention it affecting evergreens.

Fire-blight does not affect conifers. But it does look like there's damage underneath the bark, perhaps enough to kill branches in that area (might have already killed a little one). Cause? I don't know -- white pine blister-rust?

I don't think blister rust, it would have spores developing if that was it.
