I would go staraigh across I honestly do not see the point of all the ins and outs at all and that would give yo proper space for walking along that edge of the pool which BTW as it is now would be quite dangerous for kids,

I totally agree about the safety issue it can cause with children. We were suppose to have a raised bed back there but it’s been a nightmare to get both the pool builder and landscaper back out.

The design of the pool is like that due to the easement line on the back of our property.

I think some kind of level decking would be awesome. Creates more seating space around pool too. Good luck it will be lovely
