The house gives a relaxed beachy vibe, especially with the slip covers and stripes. I see that you purchased it furnished, do you like the style the previous owners had or do you want to inject some of your own personality to it?

If it were my space, I would upholster the sofas in the ivory, medium scale damask print and the chair in the floral print. Add a handful of custom, coordinating pillows with lots of fun trim or fringe that can be used on either piece of furniture would make the space feel very relaxing and homey.

I would also add a new rug- a thick shag for texture.

Good luck on your project and have fun!

I love the feel of this room! I would have custom slipcovers&pillows made. I am seeing cream/white for sofa and then a punch of black& white stripe on chair. For a rug I would keep it natural with a seagrass or sisal. The clock over mantle is wonderful! Add many new pillows in varying black&white patterns. I could also see your coffee&sofa table painted a lacquered glossy black. Bring some accessories in like an oversized lantern on coffee table and a fiddlehead fig tree to soften a corner of room.

Such great ideas! Thank you so much!
