We have had a water softener for a number of years. It is set to cycle at 3am and the only complaint I have had is after it cycles, the first use in the morning seems to be hard to rinse the soap off, but that seems to diminish quickly.

Now, it never goes away-just feels sticky all the time. Spouse said it has been set on same number all these years, but turned it down one number and it still is sticky. What could be causing this? We are on a municipal water system.
