Do you have access to the attic space? Is it much hotter? If roof has been properly insulated, and attic space is still hotter than the conditioned space, unfaced fiberglass batts might help. Maybe it's an air conditioning issue?

You might consider blowing in some cellulose insulation in the attic. Below is what I used - you obviously do not need a palette - you can get only what you need and rent the machine (free with 20 bags). I blew a palette in my attic in 4 hours. Lots of videos on youtube. Much nicer than working with fiberglass, just very dusty. Free delivery with a palette if you need that much. Noticeable difference for me.

One other suggestion...I just put up the awning below on a south facing deck and it's really helped cooling down the rooms that were getting blasted. Amazon is out of them but you can get them directly from outsunny.com . Maybe put up 2 or 3 depending on your setup.
