Can you take a closer picture of your front door? From afar the door style actually looks OK. If it’s just the glass that is dated, it may be cheaper to just replace the glass panels inside the doors. That may allow you to spend money on other updates…;). New front doors are pretty expensive.

I don't think your house is bland. It is an interesting contemporary to my eye.

I think you can get nicer garage doors with windows.

I would remove the yews blocking the windows. I would remove all the concrete that it not necessary for the driveway. It could be developed into a lovely garden. If you need a turn-around there is material that allows grass to grow through it.

Good idea on replacing the glass I was thinking about that as well. It’s frosted and I just don’t like the pattern. Not my style!

I replaced just my glass in my full glass front door. It was just a bit over $400 to switch from Victorian leaded glass to rain glass. Believe it or not, I actually sold the old door glass for $35 on Craigslist!

I love the suggestions so far, especially removing the yews (probably the cheapest and possibly quickest fix) and also replacing the glass in the front doors. Lovely home! Good luck!

I would consider painting the front door and garage doors white to match the rest of the trim. Or you could paint the front door white to match the trim and the garage doors blue to match the walls. It’s a cute house.

How about taking all front plants out. Fill the entire ‘bed’ area in with brick...giving you a porch of sorts. A small bench on an angle on the left. Beautiful large pots on replacing existing plants. Plant them chuck full of colorful plants, some trailing. As for the front door, consider replacing the glass. White garage doors.

If you decide to replace the door, consider a rich wood tone same as new garage doors.

I would remove the left portion of the driveway. The concrete overwhelms the front of your lovely home. Replace it with a nice green lawn.

Nice house, beautiful setting. I wouldn’t add a portico or any structural changes. Biggest impact would be removal of the mass of concrete to the left, as others have suggested. Removal of the hedge and replacement with new plantings. When budget allows, repainting the baby blue. Lots of potential for a gorgeous home!

If the garage doors work, don't spend your decorating budget on replacing them when you could paint the garage doors and trim white like the rest of trim.

You have a recessed front porch. Unless you want to create a front porch for actual use -- for sitting out front -- would not add a portico or front porch (and I'm a really big fan of porches) because that upstairs will make doing so really awkward.

A flat roof pergola built to connect the two wings of the "L" shaped house could work.

Or, if you're considering creating a new foyer and entry, you might ask an architect about attaching the roof of it to that upstairs roof without blocking the window.

Would keep the hedges trimmed beneath the window sill level. Research when and how to trim the kinds of shrubs you have.

The amount of concrete is ridiculous ha. I definitely want to take part of it out. Advertised as RV parking which we don’t need at all and one car will be in garage most of time anyway.

The issue as I see it is the landscaping. A new plan that involves layers that lead up to the house would be more interesting.
