Oddly placed Window

Hi everyone! Hoping that you can help me figure out this design problem. Our master bedroom has an oddly placed window and I’m not sure how to make it work. Originally I thought about painting the wall black (all the other walls in the room are white) to make the wall seem more intentional and be the focal point when you walk in the room. However, now I’m second guessing myself and thinking that might make the window stand out even more ? Also dont think we will be adding the board and Batton like in the inspo pic due to the weird trim piece under the window and our baseboards just painting the wall black. Also do I put curtains around the window or no? (Excuse the hubby and mess)

Please help!!!

Center the bed under the window and put the dresser elsewhere. (without a floor plan I can't tell you exactly where)

Get a softer roman shade with a blackout lining and coordinate it with some pretty bedding.

Thank you for your feedback Sabrina. Unfortunately if I center the bed under the window, I would not be able to access my master bedroom.

On graph paper, draw, to scale the room with this odd window and include any other windows and doors and indicate what is in the adjoining spaces. Post that to get some advise from Houzz pros.

Also, does the window open/close and is there any center post?

Are you even sure that's the correct wall for the bed? You haven't shown us the total room.

If bed won’t work under window and without being able to see other optional walls, based on picture only - try bed on the far left and place your dresser underneath window and add shutters.

To balance window and focus on something else, add something over the bed

Sorry this is my first time using Houzz so wasn’t sure how it worked. Trying to show layout in pictures, if I move bed left, the closets would be blocked. If I center bed on window, bathroom would be blocked. The only other option would be to flip the bed to the opposite wall but I think that would be odd since that is the wall that the bedromom entrance is on.

Here is the entrance to bedroom

No harm in trying on opposite wall. I had my bed next to the entrance as it made the most sense for room.

Another idea is to add a sliding door on closet if it provides enough space for bed to be move over enough.

I think you probably have the best spot for the bed, so I think the way to make the window and bed work together is to add art on that wall so that the window becomes part of the art. heres the concept... different size pieces all over the wall.

As Maureen suggested, use a picture(s) to create balance.

I would try to push the bed to the left & center the dresser (if it fits) under the window. I would add a large, table lamp (maybe white) to place on the dresser to distract from the stark window. If the dresser is too big you could replace.

Is the headboard of the bed currently centered against the wall ? If so, You could create a faux window in the same shape to the left of the existing window, especially if you choose plantation shutters for both your window and faux window. Add white painted boards to create a frame around the actual window and add the same frame to the left it so there is symmetry as to bed placement. You could put a landscape poster in the faux window frame or you could add a mirror or you cold add just a piece of glass with a collage of pictures attached to it.

If you have a convenient outlet behind the bed headboard, you might consider adding lighting above or around the window and faux windows. Since you don't have a pair of bed side tables and lamps, you could even create a pair of lights around the window and faux window.

or choose to put some kind of light in/on a wall hung box shelf ( or pair of box shelves) the same height as the window and faux window (even if a shorter width) and centered between the window and faux window.
