Dayliles blooming later than their registered bloom times

I got some pictures this morning. Then we had a brief storm (rained for 5 minutes) so now the humidity is through the roof.

I realized as I was typing this post that the theme of this post (at least for the first four pictures) was daylilies blooming later than their registered times. Here are a few doing this.

Deadliest Catch just started blooming. It is registered as a mid-late but is blooming with the lates this year.

Gaudeamus is never very pink in our garden. It is also a late bloomer for us even though it is registered as mid.

Forestlake Pleats for Laura is another that doesn't bloom according to its registered time. It is registered as mid also, but just started blooming.

Wandering Werribee is also registered as mid. It too just started blooming.

Carnivorasaurus is not a very pretty color. It has not done very well for us. It will be leaving the garden.

Fondues and Don't is registered as golden yellow, but it looks more peach to me. I won this daylily in Selman's weekly giveaway. It too will be leaving the garden.

One for the road is more purple than the picture shows. It's a good grower in our garden.

Seedling Queen is one that is in the observation bed (about 4 years old). The seedling beds are winding down except for some late bloomer coming on. This is not a late bloomer, but this flower is growing on me. It is Tropical Fusion X Saber Tooth Tiger. Saber Tooth Tiger often gives babies that look a lot it, but when crossed with Tropical Fusion, we got a different look. It's a big flower. The petal color is light yellow and I wish it were a more intense yellow. The color of the eye is nice.

My eyes agree with your observations today, my thoughts are the same as yours. Another lovely seedling Queen today, I like the red edge too

I have several that consistently bloom when they are not supposed to. I don't mind that so much, unless I am going for very late bloom. I have gotten a few specifically for late bloom, would not have gotten them otherwise, and they have never bloomed that late. But I really mind when the height is off and I plant them in the wrong spot. Now, I got off the subject. I like several, but I really think your seedling queen is my favorite.

The seedling queen is my favorite. I like the light yellow petals with that color eye and edge.

I remember seeing Fondues and Don'ts for sale on Selman's site. So that's what it looks like in your garden. A rather mild color.........I like Forest Lake Pleats For Laura. It looks like that peachy cantaloupe color I like and the edges are very nice.................Maryl
