A FEW NEW FACES ON WEDNESDAY

Had a five minute rainshower. As I watched the radar, the rain went either north or south of us. I have some crosses that have taken, I just hope that the pods don't get aborted.

SOUTHERN COTTON: Sibling to 29 Flags over Conway. I have it growing in a pot. I need to find a home for it in my garden.

SALTY SKIPPER: I moved it to a better spot and it is doing well. Now I have it in two spots as I did not get all of it last year.

LORD OF RINGS: NIce older Moldovan.

TIME TO FLY: Tall and puts on a good show.

PLATO'S PUZZLE: COURAGE TO CHANGE is its sibling. I know I posted a picture of it earlier with the canoing look. This is what it looks like first thing in the morning.

Seedling out of ARROGANT BASTARD: The photo just can't catch the sheen on this one. There appears to be a metalic sheen when the sun hits it. It is not diamond dusting either.

PROPER STRANGER: I love this one. It is flat as a pancake, minus the ruffles of course.

This is the flrst bloom ever for this seedling. If it doesn't get rid of that one sepal not rolling back, it is destined for the compost heap.

Laura,

I really like the plants from "I Can't Believe It's A Dip." Ed and Duane are great to talk with. I actually got SOUTHERN COTTON from the Region 3 LILYHEMMER auction. I did not attend, but a friend of mine went and got it for me. This was the FFO this year.

Southern Cotton and Salty Skipper sing to me in this post but your red seedling really glows. Too bad about the other seedling-these are the ones that look like they are sticking their tongue out at you!

I really like your Arrogant Bastard seedling with its rich color and its sheen. Lord of the Rings is such a nice purple. I used to grow it in a barrell, but it died one winter. Salty Skipper always catches my eye.

I can tell you that House likes to play games. I have had them hold my post several days ad hve been told some words key them to hold it until they check it out. I doesn't matter that it is the actual name either. It could be the parent's name of the red seedling that got it pulled. Who knows? That is a pretty seedling, by the way. I really like Southern cotton, for heaven's sake plant that pretty one and Salty Skipper is a favorite too.

Southern Cotton has great colors, and I like the form on Proper Stranger. Those big flat faces always appeal to me......Your red seedling almost glows with that velvety overlay on it. I dislike the parent name it comes out of, but am glad it produced such a pretty bloom. ........Maryl

I like Salty Skipper a lot and haven't understood why it doesn't make your top 10 Bennetts.

I did not have it growing in the best location, so I moved it last year. I will have to wait and see. I prefer his more round and ruffled flowers. As I said, we will see where it stands a year from now.

Nice group! I have thought about getting Southern Cotton, it's nice to see your picture of it. I wish I could see your AB seedling in person, it sounds really neat.
