Blooms from Wednesday and Thursday

I never got around to posting yesterday so here is for both days.

Those dreaded words 'things are winding down' can be said of our garden. Many are bloomed out. The late bloomers are coming on strong though.

Bernie's Fault is new this spring. It certainly is a bright bloom.

Here's a combo of Heavenly Be My Valentine with Sweet Lady Elizabeth in the back.

Bonibrae Cotton Candy Swirls is a delicate looking thing. So far the plant hasn't done much and one flower a day is the best we can get. By the way, that's Fear Not in the background.

I didn't take the time to see if this is the last flower on One Hot Mama or if it is reblooming. Whatever it is, it is a welcomed sight.

Sunshine on My Shoulders is beginning to perform like the hybridizer said it would. It was in too much shade, but we cut down a nearby tree and now it gets more sun.

Crocodile Rock is sure a toothy thing. You might imagine that Bob loves it.

We love the color on this seedling Ashwood Summer Sunshine X Carrots Forever. Unfortunately, it has a habit of not opening well (like Carrots Forever). It has a substance like plastic. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as we marked it for throw away, it bloomed like this.

This is the kind of seedling that breaks your heart (it seems we have many of those). We love the flower but the scape is too short and the buds are too few. It is Gus Townsend X Desire of Nations.

I think I like the subtle colors on this big flower. It is Bodacious Bite X Pineapple Bites.

Here are two siblings we really like. These are So Beautiful to Me X Sonoran Desert Rose. They both appear to be late bloomers.

This is probably and introduction for next year. Bob couldn't resist a tall orange. This is Ashwood Inferno X Horns.

These next ones are all siblings. We plant all seedlings from late bloomers together in the seedling bed and they are all beginning to flower now. These were planted in 2018 so it's their second year to bloom. These are all Ruffled Strawberry Parfait X Sonoran Desert Rose. Sonoran Desert Rose is giving these killer scapes.

Heavenly Be My Valentine is a beautiful pink. I also like the next spider / UF Bonibrae Cotton etc. Sunshine on my Shoulders is so nice and bright, great pic of a yellow daylily. And my favorite is Crocodile Rock - love that edge.

All your seedlings are beautiful, I esp like the late sibs and So Beautiful to Me X Sonoran Desert Rose. How many buds and how old is Gus Townsend sdlg?

Mine are winding down too..

Heavenly Be My Valentine is my favorite of the registered ones. My favorite seedling is Bodacious Bite x Pineapple Bites. The Desire of Nations seedling is so pretty. I would definitely use it as a bridge plant and cross it with something that has tall well-budded scapes, like a Hanson.

I like that orange seedling you might introduce next year. For me of course, the question would be if it holds up in our heat. If so, it would be a good addition to the orange world of daylilies..........That is a beautiful combo of Heavenly Be My Valentine and Sweet Lady Elizabeth. Right up my little combo mambo heart..........Lots of promising seedlings too................Maryl
