glass railings are so pretty, but personally I just cannot with adding more glass to the house that needs to be dusted and cleaned. esp if you have pets or kids around.

the black railing is really elegant and simple look that will tie in with many types of decor, and should stand the test of time (style wise).

I like the glass because of the modern feel.

I think the glass looks commercial.

The glass one is way too modern for your traditional house with raised center panel doors. The other stair railing is OK but if you were to use a metal hand rail instead of wood it would also look too modern in my opinion.

You might like the look of your current railing better if you painted the balusters white and the newel posts, hand rail, and base trim black.

I thing the glass looks office like. I think the dark one is better.
