The configuration isn't bad but it's beige and wood, wood and beige. That art-deco-ish white armchair is too formal and not the right look for that rustic environment.

First, get yourself a really nice, colorful rustic looking area rug. A kilim or other flatweave rug would be nice, or possibly a loop rug in a floral pattern. See examples:

Then pick up the accent colors, e.g. a deep red or the yellows, for throw pillows for the sofa. Ditch both armchairs and get chairs that have one of the colors in the rug in a solid fabric. One of the chairs could have a Native American motif or a National Park stripe, if you like.

This will make the room feel so much brighter and cozier than the current set up.

In my opinion that chair is wrong. I know you said you need to keep it but it's not farmhouse. You need something more rustic in it's place.

The white chair is going - and not fast enough. I had planned on keeping the matching one but like the idea of getting two different chairs.

You like farmhouse but this is a lodge. I don't believe in making something other than what it is. It's beautiful as is. I would of course change out the white chair, Change it to a leather chair and a half. Change the door to a wood door with a woven blind.

I appreciate the fact that it is a lodge. Thanks for the reminder. I get stuck. Yes leather chair - maybe a color. What would you think for a new coffee table or should I put a big ottoman.

Although it‘s a lodge it’s also a lake home and instead of heading towards traditional rustic, suggest modern rustic, which will feel a bit lighter and I think mixing is more interesting.

I‘d add a console, warm colorful art and a lamp to the left of fireplace and a basket with a throw on floor on right.

Repeat the colors in the art with cushions

I’d replace your white chairs with two rust leather chairs and add lumbar cushions

A large square coffee table will break up the dark brown rug and also pull together the seating area

Glad to see so much of the clutter removed! So, turn the sofa perpendicular to the left side of the FP, facing the view out the windows. That console above can go behind the sofa. Now you can add a new pair of chairs facing the FP and a bench or a chaise in the window area for reading and enjoying the view. A lodge or tribal style rug will totally set the tone for this room! Something bright and happy would be my choice.

My go to is Pintetest. How you search is important. If you search coffee table for instance, you’ll mostly see tables with Prices/links to the company.

if you add say family room, you’ll see them in that room. If you add a style as well, like rustic it narrows down further. Have fun!

What is going on behind the sofa?

This is a log home I worked with the owner last year on. Not really rustic but still keeps the "cabin" feel intact. So you have options other than a farmhouse look which really isn't right for your home and also would date it sooner than later.

Thank you. It is actually a vacation rental. We furnished it with a mix from Craigslist, Facebook Market Place, Costco, Sam's, Pottery Barn, etc. We worked with an overall budget and not a specific amount for each item so we could be more flexible in where the money was spent. The whole house had to be furnished so it took some time to pull it all together but worth waiting for those "right' pieces. And all the original art came from Craigslist or Facebook and those were steals. It just depends on the area you live in as where I live I never can find such great items, let alone the deals.

Show us what is behind your sofa.

You have 2 different wood colors ( floor and walls) that have to be taken into consideration. Your current rug has no life and is pulling the room visually down. I know you want to keep your rug but in such a small space, a rug is very important visually. and will make a big impact. Without knowing what else is going on in the space and not truly knowing the color of your sofa, I did just a real quick rug look and came across this one that may work with all the other colors you have going on- floor, walls, fireplace, furniture, etc. If you go to the rug web-site you can insert it into your room. My main concern is that the gray in the rug visually won't look too muddy on the floor. Also, you probably could sell your current rug on FB or CL if you don't have another place for it. So let's have a conversation letting us know if you are open to a new rug and if so, I think that is where we should start before deciding on any chairs or anything else.

I love this place but doesn’t feel like mine yet.

I say the couch is a beige / brown with green undertone.

@Maureen this is my bedroom up north (don't mind the mess). What color would you chose for the walls? The last pic shows you the would that encompasses the entire room.

Based on the same bedding, a shade of green might be a nice choice. Imagine first picture with green. You already have cream, so assume you want a change.

Not sure if you want to paint wood, and/or go with modern rustic. If you could give an idea for look you want, advise if keeping bedding and provide a picture of whole room, which will help for more ideas

I'd keep it in the cream family and let your bedding and accessories be the color. There are some good articles on-line that talk about best cream color paints so I'd start there as you want a paint that doesn't have certain undertones to it. @Maureen @tedbixby1981 the cream that is already there is actually a primer. This was the original color.

So the two "samples" to the left of the gold sample is primer? I think you are going to need another coat of primer as I can still see color through your one coat. I think the gold paint will compete with your wood and will look "off" otherwise if there wasn't the wood on the walls I'd say go for the gold if you like it.

It's hard to say looking on a monitor how a color of paint is working on a wall. Natural lighting and lamps can make it look totally different, too. From my side, these 2 samples look yellow on your wall. I'd get the 2nd primer on, as that original color could also be throwing off the samples since it still can be seen or paint some poster board and you can get a better feel for the real color.
