Thank you! Haha no pro either which is why I’m here. We were debating on maybe a higher quality through main Living areas and carpet in bedroom or something mid ground in entire house. Floors are by far the hardest choice to commit to.

Like what you have. Not sure I'[d want different in any room. Sometimes the transition fails and you could end up having someone thinking more about different flooring and different quality flooring rather than appreciate that the entire house already has new flooring .. enabling them to move in immediately even if they have plans to change the flooring in any room later.

Definitely would not add carpet to any room. As long as the flooring is a neutral -- not too dark or too light or otherwise unusual, -- potential buyers will be able envision their own room sized rug choices in the room -- or choose none at all if they have pets and don't want carpet or rug.

If you do decide to put more costly flooring in the Living area, then also put it in any area's open to and visible from the living area without a door : dining area, foyer/entry and even a hallway.

In the picture the flooring looks very peachy...but in principal i think the same flooring throughout ..is the way to go...and the concept of different quality in different areas is just a distracting issue for re-sale...an excuse for potential buyers to ask for price reductions...

One thing that makes any flooring look better is a slightly upgraded base board ...not too basic...

Btysrvn it’s weird I definitely see the peach too because of the lightning in this room and that’s what threw me off. Under the 4000 lighting however there is not much peach and in the north facing part of the house. The panels have a different variation. I thought paint was a hard choice lol. Def on the upgraded base boards. Thank you!

You might try different light bulbs if you want to minimize any peach shade even more. Perhaps even trying a different color bulb.

Wish I had the before pic of this horrible carpet. I like the color think biggest thing I don’t like is it does look more like vinyl than something like provenza. Ideas on windows here??

It does look more like vinyl, but it still looks nice. Definitely an improvement over dirty carpet.

You can also add an area rug.

I know it is a vinyl product as I purchased it. But these boards are also vinyl and look more realistic. That’s what I meant. Thank you.

Not sure if there is a personal reply feature but if you copy paste the name of the person you want to see your message, then that name will appear in green on your post as you post it. Then the fact that their name has been mentioned in a post will come up in "notifications".

Notifications is that bell in the upper right of the screen between the heart and the cart.

Even if the text in your post comes up looking bold when you post the name, once submitted, that text goes back to normal. Or, at least, that has been my experience.

I wouldn't change anything that isn't terrible -- the window shutters look fine to me. Any changes you make are as likely to put off a potential buyer as to entice one. Let them envision imposing their own taste.

Totally agree with acm, especially with the windows: would not add any fabric window treatment to the plantation shutters.

Wouldn't add any art to newly painted walls either -- holes to be fixed.

Also, when your house is to be shown to potential buyers: If you have a bunch of knicknacks or collectables -- curio pieces that are not in a cabinet -- be very selective as to what you leave out. Box up any of your treasures that think might be considered clutter to others.

Let the potential buyers imagine their own choice of colors and decorations to the extent possible, offer them a blank slate throughout.

Great thank you all! It will be some time before we complete all projects and actually sell it or rent it but these are all things I want to consider in the process. Our master bath is currently under reno and I struggled with deciding where to place the attachments lol. Will be nice to do because I’ll have some experience when buying and remodeling my dream home. This is definitely a lot of work!

@Dayna Sarah i know this was a while ago, but do you remebe the name and brand of the sample you layed over the vinyl floor??
