Forgot to say-- wallpaper was York purchased through Sherwin Williams. I bought it online and had no idea how shiny and metallic it was from the thumbnail, so that was a bit of a shock. I like how it turned out though.

@Laura we are doing painting, decorating and cosmetic changes pretty much all over the house and buying pieces as we find what we want. But the next big renovation will be the kitchen in October. You see this little bathroom from the kitchen so its actually informing a few of our color choices.

@arcy_gw window treatments in general are a big project for the to do list. this house has a TON of windows and none arw standard sizes.

@cpartist aww thanks! I really try to respect the age and features of any home im in. Makes me really sad to see incredible details ripped out for the sake of modern taste. I feel like there's always a way to work with them.

That is quite a change! I'd be tickled to have that bathroom. What is better than an old house?! The high ceiling, the window that just fits the space. That is a beautiful floor for a bathroom. Lots of excellent decisions. I can't tell that the wallpaper is metallic and shiny, but I'd love that too. Adding the chandelier, removing the cabinets, not removing the sink, finding that mirror. And I'd be content with the blind on the window. Really with a window that gorgeous, I don't know why it needs more.

@Norwood Architects thanks! I actually originally wanted to do some kind ot landscape mural wallpaper. A lot of old houses in our area had these murals painted in dining rooms and I just think that is the coolest thing ever. But it was a lot more Colonial than this house. I am a purist by no means but I thought this pattern was a bit more appropriate.

This is a brilliant example of how a renovation can look fresh and updated and use contemporary color schemes, while still being true to the design sensibilities of the period. I doubt if many Victorians had chandeliers in their bathrooms, but hey - if they had wanted to, that's exactly how it would look! Well done!

Beautifully done!! That wallpaper is gorgeous and having the all white tones down the busy-ness of the wallpaper, making it all look cohesive, the right amount of drama and wow factor.
