What Color Sideboard?

Hello all! I feel our dining room needs a sideboard for under the large mirror to help fill and balance the space however , I’m unsure if it should be black or match the wood table and floors . The fireplace will eventually be painted white as will the walls and our home overall is more neutral with black, metal and other natural elements .

Also, how would you recommend decorating the top of the sideboard without detracting from the focal point of the fireplace ?
