I'll try to be as short as possible, I can answer any questions in the comments. I just purchased a 1917 brick townhouse. The master bedroom (or at least the largest bedroom) is on the 3rd floor. I hate the idea of having the master bedroom on the 3rd floor and am considering enlarging one of the 2nd floor bedrooms.

There are 2 average sized bedrooms on the 2nd floor and a 3rd tiny bedroom. The bath is also small and I'm working with a contractor about merging the small bath and small bedroom to create a nice sized bathroom. It would end up being larger than really needed for a bathroom. So I've been considering moving the wall that divides the new large bathroom with one of the average sized bedrooms. I would move it about 3 feet which would still give me enough room for a nice sized bathroom.

I'm thinking of moving the wall myself, and having the contractor come in after to complete the bathroom portion. there is no Hvac or electric in the wall that would be move (or at least there are no outlets). I've never done anything like this before. I consider myself somewhat handy, but by no means a diy expert. Am I crazy for thinking I can tackle this?
