Very, very nice! You clearly have a goal in mind and I am sure that makes the cull easier. I do agree though that most of us would be happy with your culls.

Thank you ! I have been lucky as few friends took some of previous culls and hopefully these ones will find some homes too. Local garden club asked about garden walk so maybe? Lol I am that person from zucchini tales...

I think my hardest part will be down the road when I will need to cull among keepers. My goal is simple I think, I want to create mini streaked breeders. I am not quite sure exactly what I will end up doing but for now am trying to get a good number of fertile streakers with different genes. And yeah, I simply like growing plants from seed. Lol

is the yellow crinkled one fragrant?

seems like a large flower. but maybe a small plant makes it look that way

what a pretty collection of seedlings!..my standards are much lower than yours..I'd be keeping all of them..

I am at about 150 streakers and no real estate to speak of... Still it is lots of fun. I am hoping to keep potted trays for another 2 years and dwindle it to about a dozen...

Out of them about 20 were in bloom this year. Partially because not all of them were started early. That yellow did not bloom yet but leaves look good and thick.

like the yellow streaker and the glossy streaker. who were the parents?

I agree with hosta_maker and also like the one that looks like a mouse ears, first picture, last group. But , we don’t live that far apart if I recall, so if you want to unload some, I would happily take a drive........ :-)

Hosta_maker glossy one is from Korean Snow. I have to look my other ones, it is from Tonia Parrot seeds.

This one is tiny baby out of Korean Snow. KS proving to be wonderful in setting seeds. Blooming right now, am trying to cross it this year with Hyuga Urajiro.

Wow! Love that haul! Are those first year ones? Are they OP? Will you take them in or cut scapes?

I have couple that just started blooming. The sweetest thing and Blizzard just finished blooming. Hyuga U. Still blooming and so is Korean Snow....If we get cold snap next week am not sure it will do me any good to cut scapes on hostas that are still setting pods...

Most of them are not first years seedlings. Only a couple. A lot of them are my own seedlings Crosses that are first and second generation. Each with a goal in mind. Continued improvement.

there are some new Breeders in there as well, holar purple flash, blueberry muffins, Tom terrific, war and peace, mr blue, jack berry, riptide, number nine, blushing blue etc.

finally coming around to doing some blues.

the group that have set pods are between 4-6 weeks so they will be collected in October.

The ones that will set in the next week will be cut and put in a cloner under led lights to finish.

otherwise they would not mature before frost. Sugar water has never worked for me. These will need more energy than that As they will only be half finished by frost.

I collected some pods from a few plants. Elegans, First Frost, Halcyon and a NOID that is the spitting image of Fragrant Blue, but it’s not FB. I just cut the stalks and put them in labeled paper bags. They have to dry and then open? I have to read more about how to do this. I thought maybe I would try it this winter. Not sure if I have enough pods. Also, do you need streaked hostas to create streakers?

Some will split and pop open in the bag. others you’ll have split them yourself.. Let them dry thoroughly First.

yes only streakers will make variegation. Whatever is in the center of the leaf is what you get. Ie solid give solids. Whites give lethal. Of course you can get a yellow from a green or blue solid.
