I recently redid a tiny 11x11 bedroom and was told that cornices are dated. I wanted to soften up the only window that has blinds that must stay. (All windows on that side of the house have the same blinds.) As you can see, there is no room for drapes because the space is so tight. I found a fabric I liked and made a cornice box anyway. I am pleased with the result (yes, I know that is what really matters) but I would like other unbiased opinions.

The original room had 70s orange w/w carpet and no furnishings except grandkids’ toys and a 40+ year old white kids bed. No pics of that mess!
