Installing a solar exhaust fan through a yurt roof

last modified: 6 years ago

I have an old off grid wooden yurt that I built as a retreat 34 years ago. It has an uninsulated ceiling and gets beastly hot in the summer. It has a nice southern exposure and in winter its not hard to heat. A while back I actually took the wood stove out and capped it off and put in a gas line for a small propane heater. I'm thinking that I could install a solar exhaust fan in the hole from the prior wood stove to ventilate the space inside the yurt. My thought is that it would function like an attic fan. It feels just like a hot attic in there in the summer. I can post a photo if you tell me how to do it here.
